On top of the embossed wood grain, the face carries extra-wide grooves: wider channels, spaced further apart than a standard grooved board, opening the waterway to its fullest. Six round holes run evenly through the core: more openings spread the load across more bearing surfaces, so it resists bending and compression without sinking out of shape under daily use, and the smooth round hole walls work with the wide grooves to form an uninterrupted drainage path top to bottom — nothing pools, nothing stays damp, no rot, no mould, no termites. At 24.7 mm the section is in the same class as 25 mm: marginally slimmer underfoot with no practical difference in feel, but using less material and shipping for less, which makes it a genuinely good-value thickness.
